After years editing elegant, even-handed and extremely PBS-like content from our hosts and producers at Cascade PBS, it's fun to let my freak flag fly and embrace the chaos and from-the-hip humor of our writers and support staff at The Stranger.

I'm definitely learning to prioritize authenticity over elegance by including humorous takes and ad-libs - even when the footage doesn't look perfect - to give viewers a more raw, unscripted and authentic take-away.
