Northwest Regional Emmys - June 7, 2025
June 11, 2025 - I’m excited to announce that the 30 min. doc I co-produced and edited, “Asahel: The Curtis Collection,” won a Northwest Regional Emmy in the Cultural/Historical category at this year’s ceremonies on June 7.
I’m proud of a lot of the work I do at Cascade PBS, but this year’s Emmy win for our Asahel Curtis documentary was especially exciting because I served as co-producer as well as lead editor.
Director/Producer Shannen Ortale and I worked our butts off to make a documentary about an early 20th century photographer and library archivists feel relatable and meaningful. The result is a film I’m very proud of. I even had to make our acceptance speech because Shannen couldn’t make the ceremony! Like every gay boy, making an acceptance speech at an awards ceremony was a bucket list item that I can now scratch off.

2024 - 4 Nominations, 1 Win

Editor, Short Form Content - General Craft Category. For the second year in a row, I was nominated in the editor’s general craft category that recognizes overall achievement.

WIN - Environment/Science - Short Form Content. “The Range Rider” - Human Elements, Season 4, Episode 3. Win. Editor
Two episodes of Mossback’s Northwest eighth season were nominated in the same category with one win.
WIN - Historical/Cultural - Short Form Content. “The Day Germany Bombed Seattle” - Mossback’s Northwest, Season 8, Episode 5. Editor & Animation Director.
Historical/Cultural - Short Form Content. “The First Around the World Flight” - Mossback’s Northwest, Season 8, Episode 1. Editor & Animation Director.
Editor, Short Form Content - General Craft Category. For this nomination, I submitted a 15 min. clip reel composed of content I edited during 2023. This was the first year I submitted a reel for a general craft category.
